Vision Audit+ v1.4

Vision Audit+ v1.4.0 release

Vision Audit+ v1.4.0: stronger display governance, recovery, and telemetry

Vision Audit+ v1.4.0 adds required save reasons, more complete display recovery, hardened locking, improved validation logging, comments on supported display events, concurrent-instance failover support, performance telemetry, display-state statistics, visible license status, and a bundled .NET 10 LTS runtime.

Vision Audit+ v1.4.0 gives teams more control over governed display changes and more information when reviewing display history. The release combines save controls, recovery improvements, validation-state clarity, performance telemetry, display statistics, operational resilience, and easier access to product guidance in one update for AVEVA PI Vision environments.

More control over display changes

The new Require Save Reason option can show a dialog before a display is saved and require the user to enter a reason. This gives administrators a configurable control for workflows where a stated reason is needed before a display change is completed.

Enable the save control

Configure Vision Audit+ to require a reason before a display save can be completed.

Enter the reason before saving

When the option is enabled, the save dialog prompts the user to provide the required reason.

Review the display history

Use the Display History Toolpane to review supported display events, comments, validation changes, and license status.

Validation state stays consistent

When validation is disabled for a display, its state returns to Draft automatically. This keeps the display state aligned with the validation workflow currently in effect.

Recovery and display protection

Deleted-display restoration now restores the thumbnail and identities as well as the display itself. Vision Audit+ v1.4.0 also hardens display locking, helping protect governed displays when more than one user or service instance is involved in display work.

Require Save Reason

Require a reason in a dialog before a display save is completed.

Complete restoration

Restore thumbnails and identities when a deleted display is restored.

Hardened locking

Strengthen display locking for more reliable protected-display workflows.

Validation logging

Log when the validation workflow is enabled or disabled for a display.

Event comments

Add comments to supported display events for additional history context.

Direct help access

Open the user guide directly from the new help button.

Concurrent-instance failover

Support deployments with concurrent Vision Audit+ instances.

License visibility

See license status from the Display History Toolpane.

Telemetry and display-state statistics

Change History now includes Telemetry for tracking performance. It also provides statistics for the number of displays in Validated, In Review, and Draft state, giving teams a current view of the validation-state distribution across their displays.

Performance and validation-state visibility

Use Telemetry to review performance information alongside the current counts of Validated, In Review, and Draft displays.

Validation, support, and deployment

Validation workflow changes are now easier to follow because enable and disable actions are logged for displays. Comments can be added to supported display events, giving teams a place to record relevant context alongside the history entry. The Display History Toolpane also exposes license status, so administrators can check it within the same workflow.

.NET 10 LTS is included with the tool

Vision Audit+ v1.4.0 runs on .NET 10 LTS, and the runtime is installed together with the tool. A separate .NET installation is no longer required for deployment.

The new help button opens the user guide directly from the Vision Audit+ interface. For deployments that use concurrent instances, review the v1.4.0 Installation and Administration Guide when planning the failover configuration.

Technical summary

Vision Audit+ v1.4.0 adds the Require Save Reason option, restores thumbnails and identities with deleted displays, hardens display locking, logs validation workflow enable and disable actions, supports comments on certain display events, adds a user-guide help button, supports concurrent instances for failover, adds Change History Telemetry for performance tracking and display-state statistics, shows license status in the Display History Toolpane, returns displays to Draft when validation is disabled, and includes the .NET 10 LTS runtime with the tool.

These changes affect display-save governance, recovery, locking, validation history, operational resilience, support access, license visibility, and runtime deployment for AVEVA PI Vision environments.
