Inside PI Vision
Review history, recover a display and capture the reason for an edit from the PI Vision toolbar. These screenshots show the tools your team will use.
Open the display history to review recorded changes with the user, timestamp and event details. Inspect affected objects when a trend, value or layout looks different.
Useful when: a familiar dashboard suddenly shows a different trend or KPI and you need to investigate the edit.
Authorized users can return a tracked display to a retained earlier version or recover a deleted display.
Plan for recovery: choose the snapshot and retention settings for your displays. Recovery uses the versions Audit+ has captured and retained.
Administrators can enable a reason prompt for selected display saves in the PI Vision editor. The explanation becomes part of the display history.
Example reason: “Corrected the outlet-temperature tag.” A short explanation gives the next reviewer context.

Give important operating views a clear review status. Vision Audit+ supports Draft, In Review and Validated states, with configurable visual indicators and locking for validated displays.

Your administrator chooses which displays to track, how much history to keep and who can restore or validate content. Users access the tools in PI Vision.
Yes, when the tracked display and the required version are available in the retained history. Authorized users can revert a display or recover it after deletion. Audit+ cannot reconstruct a version it has not captured.
You choose the snapshot strategy: every save, grouped changes after editing inactivity, a daily summary or manual snapshots. Retention can be based on time or version count, or set to keep history indefinitely.
Yes. Enable tracking for all displays by default or manage it individually. Validation can also be enabled for all displays or selected displays, so you can apply it to the views that need a formal review process.
Administrators can enable the save-reason prompt for all displays or those using validation, with options for first saves and Save As copies. Configured email notifications can alert recipients to display activity such as modifications or deletions.
No. The state reflects your configured review workflow. History, save reasons, validation states and locking support your own procedures; they do not certify a display or make the PI System automatically compliant.
Audit+ runs in your environment as a service with an administration utility and a PI Vision toolbar extension. Setup includes access to PI Vision, its SQL database, PI Web API and PI AF. We can review the required versions, service account and permissions with your administrator.
