Asset Roll-Ups Without the AF Overhead

Totals, averages and counts across your assets used to mean building roll-up analyses, output attributes and extra PI tags in Asset Framework. Asset Analytics KPI does the math directly in PI Vision. Pick your assets, choose a calculation and a grouping, and get a responsive grid of KPI cards in minutes, with no AF changes needed.

A Calculation Engine for Your Asset Fleet

Every KPI is calculated on the fly from the current attribute values of the assets on your display. Change a metric, a grouping or the asset set, and the cards update instantly. There are no analyses to deploy, no tags to create and no backfilling.

Roll-Ups Built in PI Vision

  • Any Set of Assets: Aggregate a fixed selection of AF elements or a dynamic asset search. You don't need a matching element hierarchy or a parent element to roll up into.
  • 8 Summary Types: Calculate Count, Count Distinct, Sum, Minimum, Maximum, Average, Median and Standard Deviation on numeric attributes. Count and Count Distinct also work on text, Boolean and date properties.
  • Multiple Metrics, One Symbol: Add as many Values as you need, each with its own friendly title. Units and decimals are taken straight from the AF attribute.

Group, Rank & Slice

  • Group by Anything: Add a Series such as Template, Description, Path, an attribute value or a digital state, and one card is generated per category automatically.
  • Hierarchical States: Split compound digital state names by level, so a reason like "Equipment breakdown | Electrical" can be grouped by its main cause or its sub-cause.
  • Top/Bottom N & Sorting: Show only the top 5 or bottom 3 categories ranked by any Value, and collect the rest into an "Others" card to preserve the grand total.

Interactive & Actionable

  • Filter-Aware Dashboards: KPIs recalculate when Asset Filter+ or other asset symbols narrow the display, with a clear "5 of 11 assets" indicator. Click a card to filter the rest of the dashboard.
  • Hierarchical Drilldown: Start with templates, then click a card to drill into the next grouping for just those assets. A Drill Up button takes you back.
  • Targets & Multistate: Compare each card with a target using "Higher is better" or "Lower is better" badges, and apply 11 multistate treatments including Solid Fill, Progress and Radial Progress.

Fleet-Wide Answers in Seconds

Fleet Capacity Totals

Sum the installed or available capacity of every turbine, pump or production line in a region, without building a roll-up analysis for it in AF.

Asset Status Counts

Count how many assets are running, stopped or in maintenance by grouping on a digital status attribute, with one color-coded card per state.

Template Benchmarking

Compare the average, median or maximum of an attribute across equipment types or sites, side by side and against a shared target.

Bad Actor Ranking

Rank loss reasons or problem assets with Top N, send everything else to "Others", and drill into the worst category with a single click.

From Raw Attributes to KPIs, Instantly

A grid of Asset Analytics KPI cards in PI Vision, one per reason category, color-coded by multistate.

One Value, One Series, Every Category

A single Sum grouped by a reason attribute produces a card for every category, including sub-reasons from hierarchical state names. Multistate fills highlight the biggest contributors at a glance.

Targets & Progress at a Glance

Combine two Series to get a card for every combination, then compare each total with its target. Colored badges show how far each card is from the target, and multistate progress bars show how close it is to its limits.
