Working in PI Vision often means needing to reference or reuse tag names (PI Points) — whether you're building displays, troubleshooting, or preparing documentation. However, copying a tag name isn't always as straightforward as it could be. Native Way: How to Copy a Tag (PI Point) Name in PI Vision
PI Vision doesn't provide a direct copy button for tag names in standard symbols, but it is possible to get to the information. Here's how:

Right-click on the symbol you're interested in (e.g., a value display).

Choose "Configure" from the context menu to open the configuration pane.

In the configuration pane, enable the label to show the tag name.

Once the label is visible, highlight and copy the tag name manually using your mouse or keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+C).
🔍 Tip: The label shows the tag name or the AF attribute path, depending on the data source. Be careful when copying to ensure you're getting exactly what you need.
While this method works, it takes several steps and requires enabling a label that may not be desired in the final display.
