Install PI Nexus+ in the order shown below. The order matters because later steps depend on the service account, SQL permissions, and runtime identities being correct.
- Review the deployment components so you know which Windows and SQL objects will be created.
- Prepare the server and confirm it can reach SQL Server and PI System components.
- Prepare the PI Nexus+ service account and grant required local Windows rights.
- Prepare SQL Server access for the database setup step.
- Run the installer.
- Run the database setup window that opens after installation.
- Verify the IIS app pool and scanner service identities.
- Open the web UI.
- Install the PI Nexus+ license.
- Configure inventory targets.
- Review Deployment Readiness.
- Run scoped test scans.
- Run a full scan.
Do not start production scans until the service account, database setup, license, target configuration, and readiness checks are complete. A first scan should be treated as a controlled validation step, not as the first time the environment is tested.
