Available actions include:

Automatic Compression Tuning cleanup is enabled by default and runs daily at 2:30 AM in the server's local time zone. The default retention is 30 days for detailed run results and comparison previews, and 365 days for audit records. Cleanup does not touch active runs and preserves current recommendations, final apply results, unresolved restore failures, and retained audit history. The run detail page explains when older details or previews have expired. Use Run cleanup now to start retention cleanup immediately; use the full purge only when all inactive tuning history is intentionally no longer needed.
Auto Tune plans are managed from the Compression Tuning > Auto Tune tab. Plans are created paused by default and can schedule daily or weekly batches using either dynamic PI Point Rule membership or a fixed selected-point snapshot. Enabling a plan authorizes temporary exception-setting changes and restoration for its batches; applying final recommendations remains manual. Retuning can be enabled with a plan-specific cooldown. PI Nexus+ prevents overlapping work, retries temporary infrastructure failures, and pauses the plan when settings cannot be safely restored. In Admin > Notifications, optional Auto Tune emails can notify enabled recipients about new reviewable recommendations or failures that require attention.
The Admin retention card also controls the global Auto Tune recommendation capacity, from 10,000 to 1,000,000 with a default of 100,000. Auto Tune warns as capacity fills, pauses new automated work when the limit is reached, and resumes after the backlog is reduced. Existing schedules remain configured, and direct manual tuning remains available. PI Nexus+ does not delete results merely to satisfy the limit; use normal review actions and retention cleanup to reduce the backlog.
The capacity card reports current, expired, and superseded tuning results together with preview storage and approximate database storage when those measurements are available. Missing storage telemetry does not block tuning. If PI Nexus+ cannot verify capacity safely, new automated work pauses and the Auto Tune page explains the condition; direct manual tuning remains available.
Use reset only when the database is unusable or support instructs you to reset. Reset removes application data and returns the database to a clean initialized state.
A good result for this section is that maintenance actions are used only when the administrator understands which inventory or configuration data will be removed.
