23. Upgrades and Repair

Use the installer to upgrade or repair PI Nexus+. Always verify SQL status and runtime identities after an upgrade or repair because Windows Installer can reapply service and IIS configuration.

Use the installer to upgrade or repair PI Nexus+. Always verify SQL status and runtime identities after an upgrade or repair because Windows Installer can reapply service and IIS configuration.

For upgrades:

  1. Run the newer PI-Nexus-Setup-<version>.exe as administrator.
  2. Complete the installer.
  3. Start or recycle PINexusAppPool so PI Nexus+ can complete its startup schema check.
  4. Open Admin > SQL.
  5. Confirm schema compatibility.
  6. Run Deployment Readiness.

For repair:

  1. Run the same installer version.
  2. Choose repair if offered.
  3. Verify IIS app pool identity.
  4. Verify scanner service identity.
  5. Verify database connectivity.

A good result for this section is that the web UI opens, the PI Nexus+ Scanner service runs, SQL is compatible, and readiness does not show unexpected errors.
