Overview

The Dashboard is the starting point for daily health review:

• Choose Overview for the broad health picture.
• Choose Action View for the prioritized work queue.
• PI Nexus+ remembers the selected mode in the browser.

Overview

Use Overview when you need a broad KPI picture across the system rather than a work queue. It contains:

• Overall Health: the current health percentage, an attention/healthy meter, and the change since the previous dashboard snapshot.
• Overall KPI trend: the historical health trend from completed dashboard snapshots. The trend begins after successful scans have produced snapshot history.
• Issue totals: clickable Error, Warning, Info, and Suppressed counts. These are current issue totals, not inventory counts.
• Domain KPI cards: health percentage, scan-to-scan delta, and inventory count for PI Points, AF Attributes, AF Analyses, and PI Vision Displays when PI Vision is configured. Click a card to open the corresponding inventory page.
• Estimated archive impact: shown when applied Compression Tuning recommendations have measurable evidence. It estimates future event and storage change; it is not a measurement of disk space already reclaimed.
• Change Activity: a stacked chart of retained changes by object type over a selectable range. Use the legend to hide or show object types, hover for a period summary, and click a bar to open the matching Change History view.

Overview is best for answering “How healthy is the system, what changed, and which inventory domain needs attention?” It intentionally does not replace the issue work queue.

Action View

Use Action View when you need to decide what to work on next. It emphasizes current action items rather than a general KPI dashboard:

• Health, Errors, Warnings, Suppressed, and Changes: a compact triage strip. Errors and Warnings are active issue counts; Suppressed issues are hidden from active health; Changes counts changes since the latest completed scan.
• Active Issue Age: a stacked chart showing how long the unresolved backlog has been open, grouped by when issues were first discovered. Each bar is split by Error, Warning, and Info severity.
• Problem Templates: AF Element Templates with the broadest issue impact. A card shows the issue count and affected derived elements; click it to open the template detail, or use View all to browse templates.
• Top Errors: the most common open error issue types, grouped by category. The number is how many current issues belong to that group; click a group to open the filtered issue queue.
• Top Warnings: the equivalent list for warning issue types.
• Recent Active Issues: the newest open issues grouped into PI Points, AF Attributes, AF Analyses, and PI Vision. Each row shows the issue type, affected object, message, age, and confirmation time; click a row to open the object detail.
• Compression tuning recommendations: when recommendations exist, counts are shown for Ready, Investigate, No action, and Applied. Click a count to open Compression Tuning with that review filter.
• Change Activity: the same interactive retained-change chart available in Overview.

The Action View is a prioritization surface, not a complete inventory list. The cards and lists are intentionally limited to the highest-impact groups or newest items. Use View all, a severity tile, or a chart segment to continue in the full Issues, Change History, inventory, or Compression Tuning page.

Reading the Action View charts and error lists

The Active Issue Age chart answers whether the backlog is new or accumulating. Use the severity legend to hide a severity, then click a total, bar segment, or age label to open Issues with the matching age range. The oldest-backlog summary above the chart identifies the oldest currently active issue. A large older Error segment usually deserves priority even when a newer Warning segment contains more items.

The Top Errors and Top Warnings panels group current issues by issue type, such as a datasource error, missing PI Point, or bad value. They are not separate health calculations and they do not show every affected object. Select a group to investigate all matching issues, then open an individual issue or object detail for dependencies and the underlying message. Use the View all button when you need filters, pagination, suppression actions, or the complete queue.

The Problem Templates panel is different from the error lists: it ranks AF Element Templates by the breadth of their downstream impact across derived elements and related issues. A template may therefore appear high in this panel even when no single template-level issue type is the largest error group.

Click dashboard cards and rows to drill into the relevant filtered page:

• Severity tiles open the Issues page filtered by severity.
• Suppressed opens the Issues page filtered to suppressed issues.
• Problem template rows open template-focused issue views.
• Top issue groups open Issues with the matching issue type.
• Issue-age bars and segments open Issues with the matching first-discovered age range and, when selected, severity.
• Recent issue rows open the affected inventory object's detail dialog.
• Compression recommendation counts open the corresponding Compression Tuning review filter.
• Top change rows open Change History filtered to the relevant change area.
