Modes
| Mode | Address | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Action View | /dashboard/action | The work queue. Default for a new browser |
| Overview | /dashboard/overview | The health picture by site, type and server |
The last mode used is remembered in the browser. The page subtitle says when the shown data was updated: Updated with the time of the latest completed scan, or No completed scan yet.
Overview: site tiles
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| One site | A single Overall health tile, not clickable |
| Two or more sites | All sites first, then one tile per site, worst first. Clicking a tile chooses the site for the whole app |
| Nine or more sites | The seven worst site tiles plus View all sites, which opens Servers. A chosen site outside the seven takes the last place |
| Change label | Current value minus the latest stored value before today: ▲ improved, ▼ dropped, ± 0.0 for a change under 0.05. Reads since yesterday, or since and the date of the compared day |
| History line | The last 30 days, ending at the current value. The scale spans at least 4 percentage points. Needs two recorded days |
| Recording | Every hour at minute 5, for the estate and each site. Each day keeps its last value of that day |
| Retention | 400 days |
| First day | The history starts on the day PI Nexus+ is installed or upgraded to 1.7.0; earlier days cannot be reconstructed. A site's own history starts once there are two sites |
Overview: Health by type
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Rows | PI Points, AF Attributes, AF Analyses, PI Vision (only when a PI Vision instance exists) |
| Empty type | Greyed out with — |
| Click | Shows only servers holding that type; heading reads, for example, Servers in Lyon · AF Analyses |
| PI Points filter | PI Data Archive cards only |
| PI Vision filter | PI Vision cards only |
| AF Attributes / AF Analyses filter | AF Server cards with that type; each card's percentage becomes the type's, and its AF databases list only those holding it |
| Clear | Click the type again or Clear filter. Not remembered; cleared when the chosen site lacks the type |
Overview: server cards
| Card | Content |
|---|---|
| AF Server | Attributes and Analyses bars, then AF databases. Footer: empty databases and databases not monitored |
| PI Data Archive | PI Points bar with the count, then Point sources, then Feeding this archive |
| PI Vision | Good, warning, error and unused displays; displays with errors and with warnings |
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Order | Worst first |
| Rows per card | 8, then Show all |
| Row order | Most unhealthy objects first |
| Row click | Opens the AF Database or Point Source dialog |
| Footer link | Open AF Server, Open PI Data Archive, Open PI Vision |
| Site label | Shown under All sites when there are two or more sites |
Feeding this archive counts PI Interfaces and PI Adapter Collectors by state: error, warning, setup required, running, not monitored. Each is counted once, under its worst state. A Collector counts under every archive it writes to, and under none until it has mapped points. Interface tracking off means interfaces are not tracked for that archive.
Overview: service tags
An amber tag beside a server name shows a service health of Warning or Error. Hover it for the reason.
| Tag | Cause |
|---|---|
| Unreachable | The last connection test failed |
| Scan failing | The last scans failed |
| Scan overdue | No successful health refresh for three times the health cadence |
| Needs attention | Scan automation flagged the target |
| Change feed failing | The change feed is failing or must be re-established by a full scan |
| Interface scan failing | The last PI Interface inventory failed |
| Interface poll failing | The last PI Interface runtime poll failed |
| AF database unreachable | An AF database of the server has service health Error |
| AF database scan issue | An AF database of the server has service health Warning |
| Service warning / Service error | Any other reason |
Overview: not monitored
Shown under the cards when no type is filtered: Not monitored: the server, its kind, its site and one reason.
| Reason | Meaning |
|---|---|
| no longer a scan target | The server was removed from the scan targets; figures are from the last scan |
| disabled as a scan target | The target is disabled in Admin |
| no AF database configured | An AF Server with no AF database selected |
| no AF database monitored | An AF Server whose AF databases are all excluded |
Overview: Estimated archive impact
Shown below the servers once at least one compression recommendation has been applied successfully. It models future event and storage change from the measured event rate; it does not measure space already reclaimed. It always covers the whole estate.
