Version: 1.4.3.0

PI Nexus+ is an inventory, health, dependency, and change-tracking tool for AVEVA PI System environments. Use this guide to:

  • Find unhealthy PI assets and current issues.
  • Trace dependencies and downstream impact.
  • Review scan-to-scan changes.
  • Confirm that a repair is reflected after the next scan.

Installation, service accounts, target registration, and rule configuration are covered in the Installation and Admin Guide. Actions such as starting scans, suppressing issues, restoring issues, and exporting CSV files appear only when your PI Nexus+ role permits them.

Its header shows the object's health and related-object counts, and the available tabs depend on the object type.External SystemsOpen External Systems to review the health of PI data flowing to or from named systems.PI InterfacesOpen PI Interfaces to see where PI Point data originates and how tags are assigned to legacy PI Interfaces and scan classes.PI PointsThe PI Points page shows PI Data Archive point inventory and point-level health.Compression TuningCompression Tuning helps administrators balance two competing goals:AF AttributesThe AF Attributes page shows AF Attribute inventory, health, usage, data references, and current value context.AF ElementsThe AF Elements page rolls up health from child attributes and analyses.AF TemplatesThe AF Templates page helps find template-driven issue concentration.AF AnalysesThe AF Analyses page shows AF Analysis health and performance-oriented scan data.PI Vision DisplaysThe PI Vision Displays page shows display health, datasource health, usage, and display metadata.ScanningThe Scanning page is visible to users with scan permission. It shows live scan status and scan-run history.Change HistoryChange History shows inventory changes detected across scans.Missing and Excluded InventoryMissing inventory means PI Nexus+ saw the object in a prior scan but did not find it in the latest scan. Missing objects are hidden from normal list views by default so daily triage focuses on current inventory.Support and Scale ReadinessAdministrators can open Admin > Support > Scale to review inventory size, staging leftovers, recent scan runtimes, and SQL Server memory evidence. The SQL section separates total SQL process memory from the PI Nexus+ database buffer cache, prepared plans, and scanner staging allocations. Warnings identify a SQL memory cap that leaves little room on a shared host, excessive single-use prepared plans, or retained staging allocations.ExportsWhen your role permits exports, the header shows Export CSV on supported pages. Exports honor the current filtered view, so apply filters first when you need a focused file. In the Evaluation edition, these controls remain visible but disabled and identify the Evaluation restriction.Recommended Daily Workflow1.
