Overview
The Scanning page is visible to users with scan permission. It shows live scan status and scan-run history.

Current scan status includes:
- Queue or running state.
- Scope and selected targets.
- Current module or target.
- Processed and estimated counts when available.
- Progress, errors, or completion messages.
Manual scan scopes:
- Full Inventory: scans PI Points, Asset Framework, and PI Vision in module order.
- PI Points: scans selected PI Data Archive targets.
- Asset Framework: scans selected AF servers and databases, including elements, templates, attributes, analyses, and references. Select one or more databases after choosing the AF servers; selecting every eligible database retains the normal server-wide behavior.
- PI Vision: scans selected PI Vision instances, displays, datasources, calculations, and usage health.
The scan orchestrator runs applicable modules in this order: PI Points, Asset Framework, then PI Vision. A scan can finish successfully, fail, be canceled, be skipped, or complete with errors. Completed with errors means at least one applicable module or target completed, but one or more modules, targets, or post-scan steps reported errors.
After completed scan work, PI Nexus+ refreshes dashboard snapshots, current issue state, change tracking, and missing-inventory retention processing. Use the scan-run table to review status, scope, targets, user, progress, start/completion time, and runtime. If export is available, scan runs can be exported to CSV.
