PI Nexus+ / Installation and Administration
14. Manual Scans
Manual scans are started from the Scanning page. Use manual scans during installation, validation, and troubleshooting.
Overview
Manual scans are started from the Scanning page. Use manual scans during installation, validation, and troubleshooting.
Available scan scopes:
| Scope | Use when |
|---|---|
| Full inventory | All enabled PI Data Archives, AF targets, and PI Vision instances should be scanned |
| PI Points | You want to validate or refresh PI Data Archive inventory |
| Asset Framework | You want to validate or refresh AF attributes and analyses |
| PI Vision | You want to validate or refresh PI Vision display inventory |
The Scanning page shows current scan status and recent scan history. If a scan fails, the failure message is shown below the progress text. Open scan details and the scanner logs for deeper troubleshooting.
PI Nexus+ does not treat manual scans as a queue for several user-triggered jobs. Wait for the current scan to finish before starting another scan.
A good result for this section is that the scan finishes with status Succeeded and the relevant inventory pages refresh with current data.
