Missing and Excluded Inventory
Missing inventory means PI Nexus+ saw the object in a prior scan but did not find it in the latest scan. Missing objects are hidden from normal list views by default so daily triage focuses on current inventory.
Overview
Missing inventory means PI Nexus+ saw the object in a prior scan but did not find it in the latest scan. Missing objects are hidden from normal list views by default so daily triage focuses on current inventory.
Excluded PI Point inventory is different. Excluded PI Points were found during the latest scan, but a PI Point Rule intentionally skipped evaluation for them. They are hidden from the normal PI Point list unless Show excluded is enabled.
Use Show missing when you need to:
- Confirm whether a deleted or moved object used to exist.
- Trace an issue or dependency back to an object that disappeared.
- Review historical references before cleanup.
- Investigate why a previously scanned object is now unavailable.
Missing and excluded objects render as Not Evaluated. Missing objects lack current source data; excluded PI Points were intentionally skipped by scan policy. They remain discoverable until they are removed by retention, rule changes, or maintenance processes outside the user workflow.
