SQL

Use the SQL symbols when a display needs the rows of an AF table, a filter built from the values of an AF table column, or a custom view of AF table data.

What you needSymbolWhy
Show and edit the rows of an AF tableSQL Table+Sorts, filters, groups and colors rows, keeps the rows inside the display time range, and edits a static AF table in write mode.
Narrow other symbols by the values of an AF table columnSQL Filter+Lists the values of a column; one click narrows SQL Table+ and other linked symbols.
A custom view of AF table rows with live valuesCustom SQL Visualization+Runs an HTML document that an AI wrote, fed with live values and the rows of up to five AF tables.

Selection guidance

  • Use SQL Table+ when operators need the rows themselves and a filter on the display is enough.
  • Add SQL Filter+ when operators should pick a value, such as a line or a product, and narrow the table and other symbols with one click.
  • Use Custom SQL Visualization+ when a table does not fit, for example a live position against a list of planned points or a status board built from several tables.
  • For time-series values or alarms, see Tables.
